Maryland Warehouse Shooter Killed Herself: Cops
A woman with a handgun shot six co-workers — killing three — at a Rite Aid distribution center in Maryland on Thursday morning before fatally turning the gun on herself, authorities said.
The 26-year-old suspect, whose last known address is in Baltimore County, “reported for her workday as usual” before she opened fire shortly after 9 a.m. at the support facility for the drugstore chain in an industrial park in Aberdeen near Perryman, police officials said.
Armed with a 9mm handgun and several magazines, the woman – who cops say was a “temporary employee” at the facility — started shooting outside the warehouse building before moving inside, cops said.
“We do not at this time have a motive for this senseless crime…there were people shot inside and outside the business,” Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office said at a press conference.
Within five minutes of the shooting, a slew of deputies, officers, troopers and other first responders arrived on the scene.
When authorities found the suspect she was critically injured on the floor with a gunshot wound to her head, police said. She later died at a local hospital.
